:- Location of Meetings

Meetings are held in Stickford Community Centre on the third Thursday of each month except August, unless otherwise indicated. All meetings start at 7.30pm. There is a charge of 50p for members and £2 for non-members, which includes refreshments. Everyone is welcome.

21 May 2009:- Paupers for Life

Lynda Hotchkiss will give an illustrated talk about the poor law and life in the workhouse.

18 June 2009:- Primitive Methodism

Linda Crust will be talking about the origins and development of Primitive Methodism.

16 July 2009:- Anne Askew

This lady lived in Stickford in the fifteenth century and John Taylor has researched her life.

17 September 2009:- The Fabulous Weighalls of Woodhall Spa

Edward Mayor will be giving this talk about the Weighall family who were involved in the development of Woodhall Spa.

15 October 2009:- The History of Mills and Milling

An illustrated talk by Geof Lee on the history of mills and milling - this talk is not Lincolnshire based.

19 November 2009:- Boston War Memorial

Local historian Bill Hunt will be giving this talk about the Boston war memorial in its historical context.

17 December 2009:- Quiz and Social Evening

Another friendly quiz with guests from neighbouring history groups, followed by a buffet.
